07 Apr Life’s Value of Time
Life is a precious gift, and how we choose to live it reflects how precious we value the gift of life and time. That’s not to say that to always be busy, filling our time, is the best use of time. In fact, just the opposite may be true. As an example, if you were to have a great meal, it would be much more enjoyable to be in the present, enjoy every bite, flavor, texture, scent, and taste of the food, instead of scarfing it down quickly. Many times we do the same type of ‘scarfing’ with information. We search, scour, and devour every piece of news, gossip, updates that we can, as quickly as we can, yet we do not take time to ‘digest’ the information, to determine what applicability it may have in our lives. There is value in taking quiet time in meditation, prayer, and thought, to determine what it is we wish to partake of, and why. Also, there is value in stepping back and determining how all the pieces of the puzzle fit into our landscape. Does it fit within or change our current vision, values, and beliefs? Does it carry us closer to or further from Spirit, Inspiration, or whatever guidance we are aligned with? Can we add value to the information or concept, to share it with others?
The ability to create, discover, and feel are the things that truly make us human. Do we spend our time truly living has human beings, ‘sucking the marrow out of life,’ and enjoying every step along the journey? Are we truly living, or merely existing among the walking dead?
Love makes the gift worthwhile. Are we making up in quality what we may eventually lack in quantity? This choice belongs to each of us. Choose wisely…
